A working knowledge of early literacy concepts, skills, and practices remains a foundational competency for children’s librarians, yet the time and resources available for ongoing training are often limited. If you are looking for a resource to support your work with young children and their families, the CLEL Bell Picture Book Awards can help! In this half-day session, participants will hear from current and past Bell Award Selection Committee members and chairs, participate in paired and small group discussion, and have ample opportunity for hands-on practice using Bells resources to connect books and activities with literacy skills and messages.
